Network device config diff and database storage tool
Easy to use GUI, which runs on a portable exe for a Windows device.
Chrome is required but the App runs standalone.
 
This tool was created to compare device configuration pre and post migrations.
This tool is broken into 3 pages:
  • You're able to poll the device with the show command and save this output into the database. Each output you give a description i.e
  • host 1 - show run PRE
  • host 1 - show run POST
You can then run a merge on these configurations. This is not limited to the same host.
 
  • You're able to view the database, search for a hostname, click to see the configuration that is saved and delete unwanted columns
 
  • You can compare your PRE and POST configurations and the output will show the differences. You can also compare two difference device outputs i.e:
  • Host 1 - show run PRE
  • Host 2 - show run PRE
 
All database configurations are saved in a SQLite file, locally.
 
This tool can be modified to backup your device daily, keep a database of your device outputs, used the search to find keywords within your show run output i.e if you have 100 devices and want to search for an IP address.
